Research and production company "PARC-CENTRE" was set up in 1993 by a team of specialists working at Scientific Research Institute of Electrical Measuring Instruments.

The Company "PARC-CENTRE" develops, manufactures and introduces into operation multi-channel controlling and measuring systems and instruments for automation of obtaining the information on measurements in technological processes, in the tests of mechanical structures and in other branches of industry.

Main features of our equipment:

A HIGH DEGREE OF PROGRAMMABILITY that makes it possible to work with low-level signal transducers of different types - thermocouples, thermal converters of resistance, potentiometers, resistance strain-gauge transducers - WITHOUT INDIVIDUAL NORMALIZING CONVERTERS;

any transducer out of the above-listed range can be connected to each measuring channel of the equipment, switching of a transducer type is performed by program;

the absence of individual normalizing converters ensures a low per-unit cost of the equipment - about 50...100$/channel, that is 3-5 times less than in the use of individual normalizing converters;

concurrency of processes of data acquisition and processing allows a high speed of the equipment - up to 3000 measurements per second;

automatic error correction yields a high accuracy of measurement results - 0.02...0.2 %, depending upon the transducer type;

a built-in processing of the results of measurements is performed - averaging, digital filtering, cold-junction temperature compensation of thermocouples, computing the results of parameter measurements by using individual graduation characteristics, output of the measurement results in the units of a physical quantity or parameter that are measured;

there is a possibility of prolonged continuous operation without switching off power and forced ventilation that enables round-the-clock monitoring and control of technological plants;

we have experience of development and manufacturing of explosion-proof equipment with the type of protection "intrinsically-safe electrical circuit".

In the development of equipment PARTICULAR ATTENTION has been given to the quality of measurements, long-term and temperature stability, attainment and standardization of high metrological characteristics.

The instruments developed by us have the channels of frequency input, discrete input/output, standard interfaces and are delivered with software for data acquisition and metrological certification.

There is a number of various equipment designs (depending upon the required speed, the number of measuring channels, environmental protection level) - modular rack-mounted and desk systems, hermetically sealed wall cabinets, portable self-contained instruments.

Developed by us equipment is used in a number of enterprises of Russia among which one can single out the following:

Why has your firm got such a strange name?

As probably you have already guessed, "PARC" - is an abbreviation based on the first letters of words "Programming", "Automation", "Research", "Construction", which most accurately characterize the field of our activity.

The products of what firms do you offer?

At present we are offering measuring systems and instruments only of our own development. If your enterprise in engaged in manufacture of electronic devices (measuring instruments, sensors, electronic components, and the like) and you need a representative in St.Petersburg, we shall consider with pleasure your proposals for cooperation.

What is your attitude to "virtual measuring instruments"?

We have not attitude to them (joke ). We peacefully co-exist with them. Someone is engaged in virtual measurements, but we make real measuring equipment that works on real objects.


You name the accuracy of your equipment sufficiently high, but you know that accuracy characteristics of the import modules of analog signal input that are listed in the catalogues, usually are much higher?

In our view, standardizing the metrological characteristics of home-made and import equipment, as is said in Odessa, is "two great differences" and it is necessary to regard with much attention the characteristics of import equipment listed in the catalogues.

Proceeding from our experience, only some error components are often cited for import equipment - resolution, errors of linearity, drift and the like; taken separately everything looks quite well, but try to add them up to obtain the total error and the result can be very interesting.

For the equipment developed by as we usually normalize the limits of basic (reduced, absolute or relative) error that is determined (when reference devices, simulating the signals of sensors, are connected to its inputs) by procedures developed in accordance with the standards currently in force in the field of metrology.

Do you make measuring cards fitted into the IBM PC?

No, we did not make earlier and are not making now measuring cards that are fitted into IBM PC and not only because we have many competitors in this field. At one time we decided that a computer is not the best place to fit measuring cards, working with low-level signals (the presence of noise from a pulse power unit and line-operated cards, inconvenient configuration of slots, inconvenient insertion of a great quantity of transducer wires, and the like), therefore we make our devices in a separate design and usually connect them to computers (or other devices of data acquisition and processing) via standard interfaces.

What software is delivered with your equipment?

Minimum variant - when maintenance documentation presents the full algorithm for measuring instrument control by interface (what byte sequence should be sent to the instrument to implement one or another function and what is reported by instrument in response), it enables the user to easily create necessary software, operating on the same hardware and with the same operating system that is used by user.

Maximum variant - we deliver the "turnkey" software, providing both preparation of initial data for operation with the instrument and subsequent normal work on the user's object.

There are also intermediate variants. But in any case the set of delivered software includes the program for determining the metrological characteristics of instrument and its functional test.
